Abstract:
iBBA’s annual symposium will be held on June 12th, 2020 at the Auditorium of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. At this year’s symposium we will discuss how we can make scientific knowledge suitable to create economical and societal value. We have a great program with a diverse lineup of speakers. Entrepreneurs that have hands-on experience on what is needed to change your start-up idea into a company, discuss the obstacles, figure out funding and how to create business opportunities. Scientists that will talk about public-private collaborations between companies and the university, challenges regarding intellectual property and how to ensure that there are no conflicts of interests. Alumni that moved from a PhD or post-doc position to a job in business who will explain the difference between working in and outside academia. Supporting staff members that outline the possibilities that the university provides to get ideas off the ground. Finally, we will have an interactive discussion with the audience and the various speakers to answer all your burning questions and figure out how together we can make scientific knowledge suitable to create economical and societal value. You are all invited to this unique symposium and we hope it will stimulate to bring your game-changing ideas to successful startups and business opportunities.
